What we offer

Each school in NSW offers something slightly different depending on the community. Here's what we offer for you.

We offer an extensive list of Co-Curricular and Extra-Curricular classes and activities to help provide students with extra skills and abilities to not only further their education, but also provide engaging forms of interaction.

Some activities that we provide, include; dedicated, after-school musical instrument lessons and Aboriginal and Indigenous learning and language camps off-campus.

The SkoolBag App, which is used by the parents of students attending Lightning Ridge Central offers many useful features, not the least of which is the ability to receive notifications and alerts for upcoming school events (which can be fine-tuned to only certain classes/years).

Canteen

All canteens in NSW public schools must meet certain requirements. These include providing more healthy food and drink options – to make the healthy choice an easy choice for students. Visit Healthy school canteens to learn more.

Our Canteen Menu is periodically changing and being re-vamped so that there is always something new and exciting being added every term.

We offer an all-inclusive Breakfast Club every morning at 8:15am for Secondary Students and 8:30am for Primary Students, so that everyone who needs a little help with getting some breakfast are ensured they are ready for the day ahead.

Specialty or health-concern diets are also taken into consideration so no child is left out!

Uniforms

When students wear a school uniform, they feel included in our school community.

Students, teachers, parents and carers, as well as members of our local community helped develop our school uniform to make sure it:

  • meets the requirements of occupational health and safety, anti-discrimination and equal opportunity legislation

  • includes items that are affordable, comfortable and made from easy-care and easy-wear fabrics

  • is appropriate for the full range of school activities

  • is suitable for all body shapes.

Our Uniform Shop also offers payment plans and financial assistance for those that may have difficulty purchasing uniforms.

We also offer laptops to rent for Secondary Students, with the potential to keep them at the end of Year 12. Therefore all Secondary Students have access to study options via the internet and online learning.
